About the Game

Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon is the story of an amnesiac young man named Raguna (but you can change it) who stumbles across the farm of a young woman named Mist, who immediately puts him to work to try to help him regain his memory. Later, you can go into town to meet a host of other friendly town-folk, including the other marriage canidates (Mist being one of them).

The game is a farming simulator like the Harvest Moon games of years past, but with a new twist: this time you can equip yourself with a sword and shield and go fight monsters! ^_^ You are also able to befriend monsters, and depending on their abilities, they can help you with your farm chores, fight other monsters, or provide things like milk, wool, etc. The system is fresh and well-thought out: you can't farm well without fighting and you can't fight well without farming. The game was developed and released to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Harvest Moon. Rune Factory is known as Rune Factory: Shin Bokujou Monogatari in Japan.

Rune Factory is part of the new line of Harvest Moon games called New Harvest Moon. In these games, the original farmimg aspect is kept, but also adds in another element (RPG, fantasy, futuristic, etc).
